Franck-Thomas Link, born in 1964 in Germany, started his career at the age of eight. He studied piano and chamber music in Frankfurt (Gisela Sott), Hamburg (Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Yara Bernette), Paris (Janine Ourousoff), Amsterdam (Sweelinck-Konervatorium, Naum Grubert) and Antwerp (Royal Conservatoire, Levente Kende). 1992 he gained a scholarship at the Banff-Center-for-the-Arts in Canada. He obtained the first prizes at the Bourg Madame international piano competition (1989) and at the G-Cziffra-Foundation (1989) in Senlis (both in France) and the fiist prize at the Chamber Music Competition of the city of Tilburg "de link" in The Netherlands (1993) for the duo with the violinist Juditha Haeberlin.
Franck-Thomas Link has been the artistic director of Hamburger Kammerkunstverein (Hamburg Chamber Arts Association) since 1999 where he has performed as soloist, chamber musician and Accompanist in over 500 concerts. Besides his concert activity throughout Europe Franck-Thomas Link has also performed in Canada, Japan and China.
He has recorded for Dutch (VPRO) and German (NDR, SFB) radio stations. Since 2005 he is pianist of the Brahms-Soloists Hamburg. As specialist for piano duet and accompaniment of singers he has been invited to masterclasses to Edinburgh, Scotland (School of Music at Napier University) and Tokyo, Japan (Voice School "The Beautiful Voicecs").
